Follow the story of Yoshiki, a young Japanese boy raised in a family of Sumo champions. His brother, the current Yokozuna of Japan and his father the previous, know of nothing else and have already set the boys future in motion with daily training and conditioning (mostly sleeping and eating). His predetermine destiny may be that of the Sumo, but Yoshiki has a much grander scheme in mind. The hard part not so much as avoiding his family’s future, as it is cramming his thick, round sumo figure into his tiny homemade samurai outfit and saving the world.
After working for over four months with Disney Studios on my ‘Sumorai’ project, the dream for me to bring my characters to screen quickly began to fade. They loved the concept and the characters, we just couldn’t seem to get to that ‘next level’. Guess Hollywood can be a beast just like they say. Anyway, not wanting to let my dream die, I turned my pilot TV script into a children’s book for all ages and hope to have it published in the very near future.
